Obituary of Mathew Patrick Collson

COLLSON , MATHEW P. Age 43 of Horseheads , NY formerly of Elmira Heights , NY passed away on Friday July 3 , 2015 very unexpectedly. Mathew was born October 24 , 1971 in Elmira , NY . He was a graduate of Thomas A. Edison High School Class of 1990 . He was a Veteran of Desert Storm serving his country with The U.S. Army Infantry Division. Mathew lived Life to The Fullest and was a "Free Spirit" . He was an avid outdoorsman who loved Hunting , Hiking in the Woods, Kayaking , and playing Paint Ball. Mathew was a kind soul who would do anything for his family and friends . He could build or fix anything . Mathew worked at CAF in Elmira Heights , NY. He was pre-deceased by his paternal grandparents Bob and Vi Collson , his maternal grandparents Cassius and Agnes Reed , and by his cousin Terri Reed. Mathew is survived by his parents Kathleen Reed-Collson of Canandaigua , NY and Jack & Colleen Collson of Pine City , NY ; sisters : Rianne Collson and Michaela Reed both of Canandiagua , NY ; aunts and uncles including a special uncle : Lee & June Reed with whom he had a special relationship , Linda & Arthur Radley , Daniel & Elizabeth Reed , Pat & Pete Homerda , and Gary Collson ; cousins : Debra & Tom Norwood , William & Trina Reed , Sharon Radley , Carol & Jim Hartnett , Scott Homerda , Zack Collson , Noah Collson , Andrew & Jennifer Reed , and Caitlin Reed ; girlfriend Jennifer Clark Turpin and her daughters Skyler Turpin and Natalee Turpin and by his faithful canine companion Hershey. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS , NY on Thursday July 9, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM . Gravesite Services will be held on Friday July 10 , 2015 at 2 PM at Woodlawn National Cemetery 1825 Davis Street in Elmira , NY where Full Military Honors will be accorded Mathew . Mathew will be laid to rest with his grandparents in Woodlawn Cemetery in Elmira , NY on Monday July 13, 2015 at 11 AM.
