Obituary of Joan M. Mustico

MUSTICO , JOAN MATTHEWS Age 84 passed away peacefully on Sunday February 26 , 2017 at The Chemung County Nursing Facility Joan was born May 16 , 1932 in Elmira, NY the daughter of the late Horace and Ruth Chadderon Matthews . She married her husband , Rinaldo A. Mustico , in 1952 and he pre-deceased her on July 14 , 1996 . In addition to her parents and her husband , Joan was pre-deceased by her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Carl & Arlene Mustico , Carmen & Gigi Mustico , and Orlando Mustico . She loved her family and friends and devoted her life to her family. Joan is survived by her loving and devoted children Matthew & Charlene Mustico , Susan & William Applegate , and Mark & Linda Mustico ; her beloved grandchildren : Michael & Stephanie Mustico , Matthew & Ashley Mustico , Kelli MeeAe Connelly , Matthew Connelly and fiance Zheltushko , Danielle Mustico , and Meghann Mustico ; beloved great granddaughters : Madison Mustico and Morgan Mustico ; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law : Josephine Mustico , Mary Mustico , Theresa Mustico , Lou & Diane Mustico , Joe & Elizabeth Mustico ; several nieces , nephews , cousins , and a host of caring friends . The family would like acknowledge special gratitude and thanks to the 5th Floor Staff of The Chemung County Nursing Facility . Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS , NY on Wednesday March 1 , 2017 from 5-8 PM. Mrs. Mustico's Funeral Services will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday March 2 , 2017 at 11 AM with the Rev. John DeSocio officiating . Joan will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband Rinaldo in Maple Grove Cemetery . Because of Joan's love for animals , the family requests that IN LIEU of flowers , memorial donations may be made to The Friends of The Horseheads Animal Shelter P. O. Box 288 Horseheads , NY 14845 in Joan's memory.
