Obituary of Timothy James Castle

TIMOTHY JAMES "Popcorn" CASTLE Age 69 of Breesport , NY passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday March 13 , 2018. Tim was born August 2 , 1948 in Corning , NY the son of the late Archie Bernard Castle and Margaret Wood Castle . He was a graduate of Horseheads High School Class of 1966. Tim was a Vietnam Veteran serving his country with The U.S. Army. Tim was a civilian employee with The NYS Department of Corrections at Elmira and also retired as a driver for Lott Trucking in Ithaca , NY and was a member of The Teamster's Union . He was a member and Past Commander of The Bentley-Trumble American Legion Post # 442 in Horseheads , NY . Tim married his wife Tina Marie Shroyer Castle , on December 6 , 1986 and they recently celebrated their 31st Wedding Anniversary. In addition to his parents , Tim was pre-deceased by his daughter Tabatha Beardslee on August 21 , 2017 and an infant daughter Tai-Lynn Brigeet Castle as well as his brother Ernie Castle . Tim loved his family and friends and treasured the time he spent with them . Tim is survived by his wife Tina Marie Castle ; his daughters and sons-in-law : Holly & Shawn Hathaway of Millport , NY and Georgianna & Ernie Brennan of Horseheads , NY ; sons and daughter-in-law : Timothy Castle & Jennifer Cady of Elmira , NY and Shaun & Jennifer Castle of Alexandria , VA ; bonus children: Adam Peterson & Shera Wilkey of South Dakota and Yahna & Cliff Solowiej of Apalachin , NY ; sisters and brother-in-law : Margo Jean Castle Lisi of Phelps , NY , Judith ( Mrs. Stuart) Brimmer of Rock Stream , NY , and Lois & Robert Bauer of Elmira , NY ; brothers and sisters-in-law : Archie B. & "Freddie" Castle of Ocean Grove , NJ , Matt & Lorraine Castle of Seabring , Florida , and Cheryl (Mrs. Ernie) Castle of Elmira , NY ; several grandchildren , great grandchildren , nieces , nephews , cousins , and a host of caring friends . Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS , NY on Sunday March 18 , 2018 from 1-3 PM. Tim's Funeral Services will be held following calling hours with Rev. Richard Farrell officiating . Officers and Members of American Legion Post # 442 will conduct a Memorial Service for their departed comrade following Mr. Castle's Funeral Services. Tim will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery in Elmira , NY where Full Military Honors will be accorded on Monday March 19 , 2018.
