Obituary of Myra G. Smith

MYRA G. SMITH Age 96 of Woodbrook Assisted Living in Elmira , NY formerly of Horseheads , NY passed away on Friday March 23 , 2018 at Bethany Manor . Myra was born in Mill Creek , PA the daughter of the late Ira Giles and Eula Brace Giles. She married her husband, Donald F. Smith , who pre-deceased her on January 11 , 1991. Myra was also pre-deceased by her son-in-law Carl W. Matison on July 31 , 2011 as well as her sisters and brothers Doris Giles , Dorothy Webster , Wilson Giles , Letta Mitchell , Lena Wood ,Luther Giles , and Carolyn Clark . She loved to dance and worked at The Old Barn Dance Hall in Horseheads, NY. Myra loved her family and friends and treasured the time she spent with them especially her granddaughters and great grandchildren. Myra is survived by her daughter Donna (Mrs. Carl) Matison of Horseheads , NY ; granddaughters : Karena & Dr. Joseph Bifano of Horseheads , NY and Tricia & Ted Rennells of Horseheads , NY ; great grandchildren : Nicholas , Matison , Gavin , Dominic , and Anthony Bifano , Zachary Goodell , and Michael Rennells all of Horseheads , NY ; several nieces , nephews , cousins , and a host of caring friends . The Family would like to thank Laurie Sweeney and her staff at Woodbrook Assisted Living for their loving and compassionate care given Myra during her stay with them. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS , NY on Tuesday March 27 , 2018 from 4-6 PM . Myra's Funeral Services will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 6 PM. The Rev. Donald C. Rockwell and Mr. John Ford will officiate .Mrs. Smith will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband Donald in Oakwood Cemetery in Mansfield , PA on Wednesday March 28 , 2018 at 11 AM.
