Phillip William George, age 86, has added his light to the brightness that surrounds us always. He was born in Elmira, NY on April 5, 1934. He loved and embraced the changing times through his life in a way that is rarely seen. He always had the latest technology, whether it was the car phone in a bag or later the newest IPhone. He never stopped evolving his political and social views through a lens of compassion, and exemplified the difference between growing old and being wise. To know him was to be one of his children, he was a father, and always our teacher. He taught us not to judge, but to learn. Not to wallow but to laugh. That instead of being nice we could be honest and kind. He had a song for every occasion, half of them made up in a moment. He was indeed a creator. He could build you a house, write you a poem, bake you a cake, and most easily of all, make your day. His perpetual smile and unwavering patience were irresistible. Above all he showed us how to love unconditionally in a way I think most never understand. To know happiness was to be in on one of his jokes. To know joy was to be held in his giant hands, hands that were generous enough to hold us all. He showered us with his gifts and brightness, and now we get the chance to show that we are grateful, that we were listening, and to attempt to live our lives through the lens of his favorite lesson and remember that, "No matter how cold and damp it is, I'm always warm and dry."—It was Phillip's wish that there be no services . Arrangements are entrusted to the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS,NY. Words of Condolence and Memories may be shared at www.lynchsfuneralhome,com .
