Obituary of Stephen W. Bourgeois

Stephen W. Bourgeois age 73 of Horseheads, NY passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on July 7, 1951, in Elmira, NY, the son of the late Joseph and Mildred Cota Bourgeois. Steve, who learned his craft from his father, was a talented craftsman, woodworker, and a beloved jokester. He was part-owner of Ajax X-Ray Foundry in Sayre, PA, specializing in high-quality aluminum, brass, and bronze castings. As a Master Pattern Maker, he designed and built several components used in space exploration, submarines, and aircraft. A lover of ducks, Steve enjoyed carving them in his spare time, just one of many examples of his artistic spirit and attention to detail. On July 25, 1997, Steve married the love of his life, Colleen A. Mustico Bourgeois. They were looking forward to celebrating their 28th wedding anniversary this coming July. Steve was a generous and loyal man who deeply loved his family and friends. He cherished spending time with them. He helped with events at Legend's Bar & Grille and volunteered each year for the Horseheads Kiwanis Outing. He is survived by his devoted wife, Colleen A. Mustico Bourgeois; his loving children: Corey & Kim Bourgeois, Michele & Gary Southard, Kristi & Cullen McCann, MaryEileen & G. Shane Scott, Nicole & Dillon Nicholson, and Andrew Bourgeois; his sisters: Nancy Bourgeois and Marsha & Thomas Eagleson; his brother-in-law and sisters-in-law: John & Kathleen Mustico and Maureen Mustico Kimball; along with many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of dear friends. Family and friends are invited to Lynch Funeral Home, 318 West Broad Street, Horseheads, NY, on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, from 3 to 5 PM. A Funeral and Committal Service will follow calling hours. Steve will be laid to rest in St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
