Obituary of Charles Andrvetette Winants III

Charles Andrvette Winant III age 95 of Horseheads, NY passed away on Saturday April 26, 2025 . He was born April 18, 1930 in Staten Island, NY the son of the late Charles Andrvette Winant Jr. an Doris E Moody Winant. Charlie was a retired Lieutenant with The NYS Department of Enviromental Conservation. He loved his job and being outside with Mother Nature. Charlie loved hunting and history and especially The Civil War Prison Camp in Elmira, NY history. He loved going out to dinner with his longtime partner of forty years Susan Howell Hamlin who pre-deceased him on March 9, 2025. Mr. Winant is survived by his son James A. Winant of Lawrenceville, PA ; daughters and son-in-law: Doris and Patrick Labetti of Bricktown, NJ and Katie Scirvona of Parlin, NJ; brother and sister-in-law: Bob and Maria Winant of Florida; sister: Carol of New Jersey ; several grandchildren , nieces, nephews, and a host of caring friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Charles' Gravesite Service at Maple Grove Cemetery in Horseheads, NY on Monday May 5, 2025 at 2 PM with Rev John DeSocio officiating.
