Kathie J. Wood age 76 of Breesport , NY passed away after a brief illness on Saturday May 10, 2025 at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA. She was born April 30, 1949 in Elmira , NY the daughter of the late Floyd and Frances Patterson Bowman. Kathie married her husband, Albert LeRoy Wood Jr, on October 26, 1968 and they would have celebrated their 57th Wedding Anniversary this year. She and Al were long-time members of The Breesport United Methodist Church. Kathie was a retired cafeteria worker with The Horseheads Central School. In addition to her parents, Kathie was pre-deceased by her brother William Bowman, her sister Mildred , and brothers -in-law Richard Wood , Ernest Wood, William Wood, and Franklin Wood. She loved her family and friends and treasured the time she spent with them. Kathie is survived by her loving and devoted husband Al ; her children Julie and Michael Peckham of Erin , NY and their daughter Brittney and Toan Huynh and great granddaughter Hallie Huynh , Melissa Peckham and Brandon , and Robert Peckham; her son Jeffrey and Tammy Wood of Erin, NY and grandchildren Clai and Maya Wood and great grandchildren Dawson and Lydia and soon to arrive great grandson in May , Chandler Wood and Maddi ; and her beloved dog Coco; brothers and sisters-in-law: Thomas and Reggie Bowman , Floyd Bowman, and Paul and Tammy Bowman ; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law : Robert and Teresa Wood , and John and Penny Wood and David and Lisa Wood and Eunice (Mrs. Richard) Wood ; several nieces, nephews , cousins, and a host of caring friends.
