Obituary of Cynthia A. Sullivan

CYNTHIA A. SULLIVAN Age 81 of Horseheads, NY passed away on Tuesday May 20, 2025 at home. Cynthia was born on December 14, 1943 the daughter of the late Oliver Raymond Smith and Dorothy Jean Mason Smith. She was a graduate of Horseheads High School Class of 1962. Cindy married her husband Michael Justin Sullivan Jr., on August 4, 1962 at St. Mary's Church on Broad Street in Horseheads, NY. She was a charter member of The Tompkins Corners Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. Cindy was an account clerk with The Chemung County Sheriff's Department and was also in charge of issuing pistol permits. In addition to her parents, Cindy was also pre-deceased by her beloved husband Michael "The Barber" Sullivan on July 21, 2018 and her son Timothy M. Sullivan on July 31, 2021 and her brothers Ollie Smith and Bob Smith , her brother-in-law William Fuller, and her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Katherine "Kitty Sullivan Peterson and Clyde "Pete" Peterson and Justine Sullivan Mattison and Richard Mattison and Anna Sullivan Lawrence and Fred Lawrence and Martin M. Sullivan. She loved her family and friends and gardening and treasured the time she spent with her family and friends. Cindy is survived by her loving and devoted sons and daughters-in-law: Michael R. & Rosemary Barnoski Sullivan of Horseheads, NY, Mark J. & Leandra Stone Sullivan of Horseheads, NY, and Christopher M. & Michelle Dean Sullivan of Elmira, NY; grandchildren: Jamie Lynne Sullivan, Jessica Lea Immerman, Mark Joshua Sullivan, Madelaine Jay Sempler, Justin Matthew Sullivan, Michael Brody Sullivan, Mallory Ann Kimball, Connor Dean Sullivan, and Quinn Michael Sullivan; great grandchildren: Dominic Louis Hoppe, Brylee Athena Hoppe, William James Immerman, Oliver Gregory Immerman, Seamus Micheal Immerman, Luna Roux Sempler, and Arlo Joshua Sempler; sisters and brothers-in-law : Sharon (Mrs. William) Fuller of Clearwater, Florida , Suzanne & John Brennan of Longmont, CO, and Suzette Davidson of Texas; sister-in-law: Patricia Sando (Mrs Martin) Sullivan of Horseheads, NY several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of caring friends . Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS, NY on Tuesday May 27, 2025 from 6 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday May 28, 2025 at St. Mary's Catholic Church 224 Franklin Street Elmira, NY at 11 AM.
