WHEELER David L. Age 92 of Cayuta, NY passed away peacefully on Sunday September 14, 2025 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 24, 1933 in Newfield, NY the son of the late Frank and Blanche Swartwood Wheeler. David was drafted and served his country with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He started his career in 1952 as an electrician apprentice for the IBEW Local 139, becoming an electrician and retired after 42 years. He was recently honored as a 70 year of member of the IBEW Local 139. David married the love of his life Barbara Tuttle in 1956 and shared 55 wonderful years together and had 7 amazing children. He was a member of the Montour Moose Lodge 426, The Mechanics Club, and the American Legion. David was pre-deceased by his loving wife Barbara Tuttle Wheeler on July 6, 2012. He was also pre-deceased by his sister Doris Morgan and brother Frank Wheeler Jr. He is survived by his children: Stephen L. and Donna Wheeler of Cayuta, NY; Anne M. and John Mace of Cayuta, NY; Michael J. and Beckie Wheeler of Cayuta, NY; Kathleen D. and Martin Vondracek of Odessa, NY; Mary L. and David Aldrich of MS; Paul F. Wheeler and Jill Sgrecci of Watkins Glen, NY; Elizabeth Ayers of Horseheads, NY; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; sister: Linda House of Avon, NY; brother: William Wheeler of Odessa, NY; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of caring friends. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS, NY on Thursday September 18, 2025 from 10AM – 12PM. David's Funeral Services will be held at the Funeral Home at the conclusion of calling hours at 12 PM. With the Pastor MaryAnn Kinney officiating.
