Jill D. Cole age 72 of Horseheads , NY passed away on Wednesday September 17, 2025 at The Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Jill was born July 25, 1953 in Elmira , NY the daughter of the late Richard Evenden and Arlene L. Barrett Evenden. She married her husband Leland A. Cole on August 9, 1981 and they recently celebrated their 44th Wedding Anniversary. In addition to her parents, Jill is pre-deceased by her daughter-in-law: Teresa Cole , son-in-law Shawn Clay , Gordon W. Gaylord Sr. , Gordon W. Gaylord Jr., Kim Gaylord, Ricky Gaylord, nephew Brian James Evenden, and grandson Kevin Cole. She was bus driver for The Horseheads Central School District and Chemung County Transit and worked at AIM where she was a caregiver for her nephew. Jill was a member of American Legion Post # 1612 Auxiliary in Big Flats , NY and co-ordinator for the CLIF annual picnic. Jill loved going camping with her husband Leland. She loved her family and friends and treasured the time she spent with them. Jil is survived by her husband Leland A. Cole ; her children: Suanne Bachert, Steven (Mary) Cole, Cindy Clay , Kathy (Keith) Knickerbocker , Tim (Micheala) Cole, Leland (Barb) Cole : grandchildren : Derik Cole , Allison Hall , Matthew Cole, Vincent Cole , Aaron Huber , Ashley (Joe) Bean , Austin Dockerty , Anna Dockerty , Heather (Bill) Edwards ,Beth (Matt) Pulvino; several great grandchildren and a special nephew Cliff ; brothers and sisters-in-law : Brian and Tia Evenden and Shawn (Johna) Evenden ; sister and brother-in-law Ricarda "Ricky" and Robert Little; step brothers and step- sisters: Donald( Cathy) Gaylord, Sharon (Gary) Frisbie, Gail (Fred) Courtright, Gary (Dorothy) Gaylord , Sue (Tom) Deegan, Tim ( Lynne) Gaylord, Rick (Terrie) Gaylord; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews , cousins , and a host of caring friends. Relatives and friends are invited to a Celebration of Jill's Life on Sunday September 28, 2025 at 2 PM at The Skinner-Ernest American Legion Post # 1612.
