Gerald Rexford Thomas "Jerry" Kosty Age 77 of Horseheads, NY passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday November 4, 2025. Jerry was born March 21, 1948 in Corning , NY the son of the late John Vincent Kosty and Thelma Irene Swartz Kosty. He was a graduate of Horseheads High School. Jerry was a Vietnam Veteran serving his country with The U.S.ARMY. He married his wife, Katherine L. "Kit" Rohde Kosty on June 10, 1979

and they recently celebrated their 46 th Wedding Anniversary on June 10, 2025. Jerry was a screw machine operator and supervisor for L.R.C. / Thomas & Betts for many years. In addition to his parents, Jerry is pre-deceased by his brother Norman Frederick Kosty on May 4, 2023 and by his sister and brother-in-law Sheila Dawn Allen and Ed Allen and sisters -in-law and brothers- in-law Sher Rohde, Shirley and Gerald Rohde, and Gerald Broderick. He was a member of The Rod & Gun Club, he made sling shots, homemade wine and moonshine, "Easter Cheese" and "Hot Lips" Keilbasa. Jerry enjoyed boating on Seneca Lake with Kit after his retirement. Jerry loved his family and friends and treasured the time he spent with them. Jerry is survived by his wife Katherine L. "Kit" Kosty; his loving daughters: Jennifer and William Hirons of Seneca Falls, NY, Stephanie Goff of Horseheads, NY, and Tiffany Kosty of Horseheads, NY; cherished grandchildren: Brianna Ross, Cassie and John Jones, Hannah Goff, Tyler Goff and his fiancé Morgan, Megan Goff, Kielyn Goff, Riley Goff, Devon Walton, Lillian Walton, and Dennis Epperson II: two great grandchildren: Millie and Rori; sister and brother-in-law: Robin Jill Kosty Kroger and Eugene Kroger of Springtown, Texas; brother-in-law : Tom Rohde of Florida ; sister-in-law : Mary Larson who was Norm's loving companion of several years; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of caring friends including Collene and Kenneth Dante, Angelina Pellegrino and her daughter Leilana Pellegrino, nephews Vincent and Heather Kosty, Norm and Linda Kosty, and cousin Ron Swartz and Suze Wallin. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS, NY on Sunday November 9, 2025 from 1-4 PM with Jerry's Funeral Services following calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to a charity supporting Veterans would be greatly appreciated by Jerry's Family. Jerry will be laid to rest in Woodlawn National Cemetery in Elmira, NY where Full Military Honors will be accorded Mr. Kosty.
