Gary Lee Pruyne age 87 of Horseheads, NY went to be with the Lord on Sunday January 4, 2026. He was born on January 13, 1938 the son of the late Ernest and Fern Page Pruyne of Elmira, NY. Gary graduated from Ocean City High School in Ocean City, NJ in 1955. He was pre-deceased by his beloved dog Brandi Lin. Gary is survived by his loving wife of 28 years Judy Driscoll Pruyne. He is also survived by his sister Lynne Dian Garnsey of Yorktown Heights, NY; his sons: Kevin (Kathy) Pruyne of Waldoboro, ME and Adam (Lisa) Pruyne of Webster, NY; daughters: Susan Ascura (Mike) of Clinton, UT, Amy Pruyne of AZ; two step children: Ginger Colinger of Cornelius, NC and Brynn Driscoll-Elford of Elmira Heights, NY; 14 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren. Special friends Al Baker, Ed Pearsall, and Paul Mattison. Gary was employed by Commercial Press, Elmira Star Gazette, his own print shop The Village Printer, and retired from Sunset Printers in 2003. In his retirement he was an avid golfer and was employed by Soaring Eagles Golf Course in Horseheads, NY. Gary was a member of Victory Highway Wesleyan Church in Painted Post where he was a Trustee for many years and employed in their maintenance department. Gary was also a Square Dance Caller for over 45 years. He called for The Relaxed Squares in Elmira Heights, NY , Soaring Twirlers in Elmira Heights, NY, Square-A-Naders in Newfield, NY, Champagne Whirl-a-Ways in Bath, NY, Curly-Q Campers, and Southern Tier Wheelers Campers. Family and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS, NY on Saturday January 10, 2026 from 2 to 4 PM. Gary's Funeral Services will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 4 PM. Mr. Pruyne will be laid to rest in Maple Grove Cemetery in Horseheads, NY.
