Louis P. Solometo Age 81 of Horseheads, NY passed away on Tuesday February 17, 2026. He was born in Canada on December 24, 1944 the son of the late Solomon J. and Anly A. Sergenese Solometo. He was also pre-deceased by his brother Paul Solometo. Louis was a graduate of Horseheads High School and Corning Community College. Louie worked at Whittaker's Market in Hanover Square and Tops Market in Horseheads. Mr. Solometo married his wife Marilyn Papinski Solometo on May 1, 1976 and they would have celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on May 1, 2026. He loved to hunt and fish and was a car enthusiast and was a member of Ducks Unlimited. Louis is survived by his loving wife of almost 50 years Marilyn Papinski Solometo; sons: Joseph and Anthony; daughter: Nicole and Brad Layton; daughter-in-law: Teresa Smith; grandchildren: Kyla Chasteen, Joseph Solometo, and Sean Townsend; sister: Marilyn A. Solometo; many beloved friends. Lou's family would like to thank their many friends and neighbors for their many acts of kindness.
