Betty L. "Collins" Austin Obituary
Betty L. Austin age 86 of Horseheads, NY passed away on Tuesday March 17, 2026 at Corning Guthrie Hospital. Betty was born January 11, 1940 in Montour Falls, the daughter of the late Edwin "Ned" and Mildred LaRue Collins. She married her husband , Raymond L. Austin, on February 2, 1957 and he pre-deceased her on December 9,2018. She had worked at the Ann Page Plant and LRC Electronics in Horseheads, NY and retired from Elcor Nursing Home. Betty was also pre-deceased by her daughter Cynthia , her grandson Thomas Austin , her brothers Ted Collins and Larry Collins, and her sisters Pam Lesky and Waneta Williams. She enjoyed spending time with her husband doing things like going to flea markets, auctions , and county fairs. Betty was very proud of her family and she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Betty is survived by loving children : Brenda (William) Murrell of Watkins Glen , NY ; Rebecca (John) Kolanch of Hampstead, NC and Danny (Robin) Austin of Horseheads, NY; 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of caring friends. It was Betty's wish that there be no prior calling hours and that her services be held privately at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS , NY. Betty will be laid to rest with her beloved husband Raymond in Maple Grove Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
