Christopher James Wise age 38 passed away on Tuesday April 14, 2026 leaving behind a life that was as full, loud, and unforgettable as he was. Chris was a devoted husband to his wife , Erica Urruti-Wise, and a proud father to his son Nico (9) and daughter Isla (4) , who were the center of his world and the audience for many of his best ( and most questionable) jokes. He is survived by his parents, Brian and Mia Wise; his brother Jason wise and Jason's partner Bruce Landry; and a wide circle of extended family and friends who will miss him deeply and talk about him often-likely with a mix of laughter and disbelief. Chris worked as a school bus driver, a role that suited his larger-than-life personality and love of connecting with people. He was also a small business owner, running a food truck that reflected his passion for cooking. He took enormous pride in his food, whether he was serving customers or feeding friends and family. In Chris's world, no one left hungry- and no one left without a story. He had a personality that could only be described as a force of nature: loud, boisterous, and impossible to ignore. He brought energy into every room he entered and left an impression on everyone he met. Around the holidays , he was especially known for his Christmas cookies- some traditional, some…less so- but all unmistakably Chris. Chris had a deep love for cars, appreciating them not just for looks but for speed. It was just one more way he expressed his enthusiasm for life. Above all, Chris will be remembered for the joy he brought to others, his fierce love for his family, and his ability to turn even ordinary moments into something memorable. Calling hours will be held from 3:00 PM to 5 PM on Friday April 24, 2026 at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS, NY. A Reception will follow at The Horseheads Moose Lodge # 1476 416 West Franklin Street Horseheads, NY including food and beverages where family and friends are invited to gather , share stories , and celebrate Chris's Life in a way he would have appreciated- together, and with plenty of laughter.
