Jennifer Dee (Hetherton, Schieder) Hillman, age 77, of Horseheads, NY, passed away

Sunday, November 30, 2025.

Jennifer was born in Elmira, NY, on February 25, 1948 to the late William and Barbara

(Kehoe) Hetherton.

A graduate of Elmira Free Academy, she attained a Bachelor's degree from the State

University of New York at Cortland and ultimately a Master's Degree in Education from

Elmira College. Jennifer taught for the Horseheads School District for 26 years, first as

a Middle School teacher and then as a High School English teacher and Department

Chair.

A lifelong resident of Chemung County, she enjoyed much of what the area offered:

sailing Seneca Lake, the orchestras, symphonies, and plays of the Clemens Center,

and kayaking in the Adirondacks. She was a proud and active member of the Alpha

Delta Kappa organization of women educators and spent many hours volunteering in

her church outreach programs. Her hobbies included reading, gardening, and traveling

to visit family and friends.

Jennifer was predeceased by her parents and step-mother, Esther (Manzo) Hetherton,

sister Jean Pendleton, brother Carl Hetherton, and her husband of nearly 37 years,

Harry A. Hillman II.

Survivors include children: Heather (Matt) Zoller, Paula Rock, Beth (Chuck) Hillman,

Susan Rankin, and David (Kelly) Hillman; eight grandchildren: Drew Zoller, Jake

(Kourtney) Zoller, Erica Rock, John (Stacey) Rankin, Kristen Rankin, Brittany Hillman,

Kaitlyn Hillman and Ashley Hillman; two great-grandchildren: Knox and Rebel Zoller;

sisters, Sue (Alan) Struss and Lois (Steve) Plaisted, and a host of nieces, nephews,

cousins, and dear friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the First United Methodist Church of

Horseheads, 1034 W Broad Street, on Monday, July 13, 2026 from 10-11 AM with

funeral services directly after. The Rev. Jeff MacDowell will officiate. Jennifer will be laid

to rest in Ashland Cemetery in Wellsburg, NY at the convenience of the family.
