Jack E. Turner age 86 of Horseheads, NY passed away on Tuesday July 14, 2026 . Jack was born April 18, 1940 in Elmira, NY the son of the late Jack LeRoy Turner and Mabel Norton Turner. He was a US NAVY Veteran serving his country from 1958-1963 and was stationed on the USS Lake Champlain. Jack married his wife , Marlee I. Bennett Turner , on March 2, 1965 and she pre-deceased him on January 8, 2006. He was a retired machinist for Corning Glass Works. Jack was a member of Tompkins Corners United Methodist Church and was a founding father of The Tompkins Corners Fire Department. He loved his community and enjoyed making it a place where everyone knew each other and helped each other out. In addition to his wife , Jack was pre-deceased by his granddaughter Jennifer Turner on March 2 , 2012 and by his sister Janice Eschelman. Jack is survived by his children : Terry and Shelly Turner of Troupsburg, NY ; Lonny Turner of Millport,NY ; Kimberly and Christopher Koval of Horseheads, NY ; Lisa and Sheridan Chandler of Beaver Dams , NY : Julie and Richard Dickson of Horseheads, NY ; Cynthia Turner of Port St. Lucie, Florida ; 11 grandchildren , 11 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren; sister and brothers-in-law: Cheryl and Don Carr of Lockport, NY and Russell Eshelman of Bumpass, VA ; several nieces, nephews , cousins , and a host of caring friends . Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS, NY on Monday July 20, 2026 from 2-4 PM. Jack's Funeral Service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 4 PM with Rev. James Radford officiating. Jack will be laid to rest in Maple Grove Cemetery next to his beloved wife and parents where Full Military Honors will be accorded Mr. Turner.
