It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Jo Ann Mann(Galarneau) of Horseheads, NY on July 19, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.

Jo Ann, lovingly known as Jo, was born in Mississippi on February 18, 1935 to Ann Sinclair Galarneau and Ludger Galarneau. Shortly after they moved and she spent her childhood in her beloved state of Maine. Jo was a proud employee of Westinghouse Electric until she retired, but even more proud of her title of mom, grandma, and wife.

To know Jo was to know the love and devotion she had to "her Ernie." Jo Ann married Ernest Mann in Lewiston, Maine at the naval base on September 19, 1953. Jo and Ernie got to spend 69 beautiful years loving each other. They enjoyed sharing their love story as well as the pride they had in their boys - Ted and Jerry. Their grandchildren and great grandchildren enjoyed experiencing the same love and devotion that they had for each other. Countless cherished memories made at Grandma and Grandpa's house.

In her lifetime, Jo Ann was defined by her kindness, generous heart, and the love that she had for her family. She brought a sense of warmth and calmness to every place she went. Her home was filled with laughter, a good game of Old Maid at the kitchen table, and a story about the love her and "her Ernie" shared. You would never leave without your belly being full and her knowing all of your favorite foods for your next visit. Jo had the ability to connect with anyone that she met and lived by the saying, "different strokes for different folks." That was the thing about Jo, she believed that all people deserved kindness and understanding and she exuded that each and every day.

Jo Ann is survived by her beloved son, Ted Mann (Kathy); Grand daughters, Sandy Mann and (Ron Johnson), Allycia Mann; and her cherished great grandchildren Isabella, Jackson, and Lennyn. She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Mann (1932-2022), beloved son Jerry Mann (1961-2017), mother, father, and brother Michael Galarneau.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS, NY on Friday July 31, 2026 from 1PM-2PM. JoAnn will then be laid to rest in Maple Grove Cemetery in Horseheads, NY, immediately following calling hours.
