Edward M. Kennon age 85 of Horseheads, NY passed away on Saturday August 29, 2026. Ed was born October 24, 1940 in Elmira, NY the son of the late Wentworth Charles Kennon and Sophia Kolanach Kennon. He was a graduate of Thomas A. Edison High School Class of 1958. Upon graduation, Ed enlisted in The United States Marine Corps and served his country from 1958 to 1962. He married his beloved wife of 65 years, Jean Kenney Kennon, on October 29, 1960 and they would have celebrated their 66th Wedding Anniversary on October 29, 2026. Ed was a plumber/pipefitter for several years and retired from Collins & Walton Plumbing in Elmira, NY. He was a "jack of all trades" and could fix anything. He loved boating, cooking, baking, hunting, and joking around. Above all, he loved his family and they always came first. After his retirement, he enjoyed reading to the kids at Ridge Road School and eating with them and making them all feel special. Ed is survived by his beloved wife Jean Kenney Kennon; daughters and sons-in-law: Kimberly and John Boulas of Raleigh, NC and Erin and Daniel Kazmark of Horseheads, NY; grandchildren: Christopher & Marie January Boulas, Megan and James DiNicolantonio, Ryan and Josh Bickham, Matthew Ahrens, Brian Kazmark, Aric Kazmark; great grandchildren: Alexander, Emmalyn, Olivia, Grey, and Quinn; sister: Phyllis ( Mrs.Glenn "Rip") Banfield of Horseheads, NY; two nieces and one nephew. It was Ed's wish that there be no calling hours and his services will be held at the convenience of his family. Ed will be laid to rest in Maple Grove Cemetery in Horseheads, NY.
