Obituary of Mildred L. Payne

PAYNE MILDRED L. Age 90 of Beaver Dams, NY passed away on Friday June 16, 2017. Mildred was born on April 22, 1927 in Elmira, NY the daughter of the late Herman and Mable Mitchell Bastilla. She married her husband Merle L. Payne Sr. on October 12, 1946 and he pre-deceased her on March 3, 1997 after 50 years of marriage. She was a member of the Elmira Heights American Legion Auxiliary and the Chemung Valley Old Timers Association. Mildred was an avid NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt Fan. Besides her loving husband she was also pre-deceased by her son Larry Payne on August 12, 2005, sister: Marian Campbell; brother: William Bastilla and sister-in-law: Cheryl Leshick. Mrs. Payne is survived by her loving children and their spouses: Merle L. and Aree Payne Jr. of Jessup, GA; William and Glenda Payne of Addison, NY and of Florida; Marie and Cliff Mays of Horseheads, NY; Cindy and Jerry Meunier of Tell City, Indiana; Mark D. and Cindy Payne of Elmira Heights, NY; several grandchilden and several great grandchildren; sister: Jean, brother: Tom Leshick of Elmira Heights, NY, daughter-in-law: Janice (Mrs. Larry) Payne of Horseheads, NY; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of caring friends. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS, NY on Monday June 19, 2017 from 5-7PM. Mildred's Funeral Service's will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 7PM with the Rev. James Radford Officiating. Mrs. Payne will be laid to rest at 11AM on Tuesday June 20, 2017 at Woodlawn National Cemetery in Elmira, NY.
