Obituary of Donna S. Schiefen
Donna S. Schiefen age 83 of Pine City, NY passed away on Thursday December 14, 2023 at St. Joseph's Skilled Nursing Unit in Elmira, NY. Donna was born October 3, 1940 in Elmira, NY the daughter of the late Charles M. Mowery Sr. and Mary K. McElligott Mowery. She went to Horseheads High School and graduated in 1958. Donna then worked for several prominent attorneys in the Horseheads area for many years as a legal secretary until she was hired by Schweizer Aircraft in Big Flats, NY as an Administrative Technician where she retired after nearly 40 years of dedicated service. Donna loved to travel and cherished her time in Hawaii and Florida with her family. She also was an enthusiastic volunteer at The Clemens Center in Elmira where she helped many celebrity performers into Character and costume. Donna was a long-time communicant of St. Mary's Southside Catholic Church in Elmira , NY . In addition to her parents , Donna was pre-deceased by her daughter Wendy Williams and her husbands John Ruhmel , Charles C. Smith and Charles H. "Chuck" Schiefen ; her sister and brother-in-law Diane and Dayton "Pete" Knox and her brother and sister-in-law Richard N. "Dick" and Suzanne E. Wheeler Mowery , and brother Charles M. Mowery Jr. Donna loved her family and friends and treasured the time she spent with them. Donna is survived by her sister and brother-in-law: Margo and Thomas Chimelski of Horseheads, NY ; her son and daughter-in-law: Mark and Diane Williams, Laura Williams, and Diahn Senick and their families ; several grandchildren, great grandchild , nieces, nephews, cousins , and a host of caring friends. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS, NY on Wednesday December 20, 2023 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM with Recitation of The Rosary at the conclusion of calling hours. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday December 21, 2023 at 10 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church 224 Franklin Street Elmira, NY. Donna will be laid to rest in St. Mary Our Mother Cemetery in Horseheads, NY. In lieu of flowers , Donna may be remembered through memorial donations to the Parkinson's Foundation.org .
