Elizabeth Smith "Betty" Putman age 95 formerly of Horseheads, NY passed away on Saturday December 21, 2024. Betty was born September 27, 1929 in Wellsboro, PA the daughter of the late Paul Smith and Louise Platt Smith. She married her husband , DeRoy Lawton "Putt" Putman on August 15, 1948 and he pre-deceased her one week before their 60th Wedding Anniversary on August 3, 2008. Betty was a bookkeeper for Marine Midland Bank in Horseheads, NY for many years. She loved her family and friends and treasured the time she spent with them. Mrs. Putman is survived by her loving children Thomas and Marilyn Putman of Hamburg, NY , Shari and Mark Herrick of Middlebury Center, PA , and Barbara and Kirk Vieselmeyer of Horseheads, NY ; beloved grandchildren: Erin and Jeff Winston , Alan and Jessica Putman, Kimberly and Vic Paternosh, Amy Cavanaugh (Davenport ) and Travis Hendley , Rebecca and Thomas Ulmer , Brian and Elisabeth Vieselmeyer , Jeffrey and Katie Vieselmeyer, Jared and Ashley Vieselmeyer, Kyle and Emilee Vieselmeyer; great grandchildren Taylor , Abbye and Breanna Cavanaugh , Nathan and Trista Paternosh , Elizabeth, Phoebe, and Patrick Ulmer , Katie Winston, Christopher Giafagilone, Madeleine and Gabriella Vieselmeyer, Carson and Delaney Vieselmeyer, Alivia , Nicholas, Axton, and Brielle Vieselmeyer, Evelyn, Charlotte , and Henry Vieselmeyer; several nieces , nephews, cousins , and a host of caring friends. It was Mrs. Putman's wish that there be no calling hours. Private Funeral Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
