Obituary of Mary Ann Jenkins

JENKINS Mary Ann Pabis Age 93 of Horseheads , NY passed away on Monday December 26 , 2011 . Mary was born September 18 , 1918 in Elmira , New York the daughter of the late Michael and Agnes Thomidy Pabis . She married her husband , Daniel T. Jenkins Sr. , on August 15 , 1934 and he pre-deceased her on March 25 , 2001 after nearly 67 years of marriage. Mary was also pre-deceased by brothers and sisters Joseph Pabis , Francis "Hank" Pabis , Helen Pabis , Veronica Drake , Leona Rybak , Max Pabis , Leon Pabis , and Sophia Sleeper as well as brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law George W. Poley , Barbara Ann (Mrs. William) Morse , and Douglas Poley. Mrs. Jenkins was a devout Catholic and a communicant of St. Mary Our Mother Church in Horseheads , NY. Mary and her husband Dan owned and operated Danny's Coffee Pot in Elmira , NY and Danny's Grocery Store on Sing Sing Road in Horseheads , NY and ran The Dairy Bar Restaurant in Mansfield , PA . She was a retired employee of I. Putnam Inc. in Big Flats , NY . Mrs. Jenkins was a loving wife , mother , and grandmother whose entire family loved to go to "Grandma's House" for her cooking and unconditional love . Mary loved her family her family and friends and treasured the time she spent with them especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Jenkins is survived by her children : Daniel T. (Delores) Jenkins Jr. of Elmira , NY Michael S. (Esther) Jenkins of Stockton , Maryland , Gail M. (Earl) Lampman of Horseheads , NY , and Deborah (David) Mosher of Horseheads , NY ; 21 grandchildren: Daniel T. (Marcia) Jenkins III , Richard (Barbara ) Jenkins , Virginia (George) Weikle , Dawn Jenkins . Cindy Lou Vroman , Venessa (Mark) Cicora , Pam (Mike) DeRiggie , Helen (John) McGough , Terry (Chris) Burley , Kathleen (Kenneth) Whited , Patricia (Bryan) Benjamin , Deborah (Ted) Condie , Teresa (Randy) Isaacs , Michael (Melissa) Jenkins , Ronald (Jennifer) Lampman , Laurie (Walter) Sabatura ,Tamara (Maynard "Rex") Gurnsey , David (Stephanie) Mosher, Terry Levels , Suzanne Heinrich , and Thomas Mosher ; 47 great grandchildren , 19 great great grandchildren ; sister : Bernice Mechalke of Connecticut ; sister -in-law : Betty Jane Smith of Pine City , NY ; several nieces , nephews , cousins , and a multitude of caring friends . Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS , NY on Thursday December 29 , 2011 from 4-7 PM . Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday December 30 , 2011 at 10 AM at St. Mary Our Mother Church in Horseheads , NY . The Rev. Christopher E. Linsler will be the Celebrant of Mrs. Jenkin's Funeral Mass . Mary will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband Dan in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Elmira , NY. The Family will provide their own flowers and those wishing may remember Mrs. Jenkins through memorials to The American Diabetes Association or The American Heart Association.
