Obituary of Frank J. Salvatore

SALVATORE , FRANK J. SR. Age 97 of Horseheads , NY passed away on Wednesday March 4 , 2015 at The Arnot Ogden Medical Center . Frank was born May 25 , 1917 in Hulberton , NY the son of the late Dominic and Florence Salvatore . He was a Veteran of World War II serving his country with The U.S. Army . Frank married his first wife Bertha J. Molnar Salvatore and she pre-deceased him on September 27 , 1971 . He was also pre-deceased by his six brothers and his sister and by his step-son Eric A. Baranyk on May 3 , 2006. Frank married his second wife Hilde Betzler Baranyk Salvatore . Frank was a communicant of St. Mary Our Mother Church in Horseheads , NY . He was a charter member of Horseheads Elks Lodge # 2297 and a member of The Sons of Italy in Sayre , PA . He loved his family and friends and treasured the time he spent with them. Mr. Salvatore is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law : Frank J. & Marilyn Salvatore Jr. of Holley , NY , Gary E. & Carol Salvatore of Sanborn , NY , and Donald P. & Kathleen Salvatore of Elmira , NY ; daughter and son-in-law : Patty & Mike Colwell of Syracuse , NY ; nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren ; Hilde's children ; Jutta Bills of Elmira , NY , Walter & Patty Baranyk of Centerville , VA , Joseph & Sharon Baranyk of Gillett , PA , and David & Annette Baranyk of Horseheads , NY along with their families ; several nieces , nephews , cousins , and a host of caring friends. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS , NY on Sunday March 8 , 2015 from 1-3 PM . Mr. Salvatore's Funeral Services will be held at the conclusion of calling hours with Rev. Christopher E. Linsler . Full Military Honors will be accorded Mr. Salvatore at the Funeral Home. Frank will be laid to rest in St. Mary Our Mother Cemetery in Horseheads , NY.
