Obituary of Elwin Bryan Hooey

HOOEY , ELWIN B. "Ed" Age 69 of Wyandotte, Michigan passed away on Sunday March 15, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. Ed was born on November 10, 1945 in Elmira , NY the son of the Robert H. and Irene M. Saylor Hooey. Ed was a graduate of Thomas E. Edison High School Class of 1964 . He was a Vietnam Veteran serving his country with the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Hooey worked for Hardinge Brothers and Seneca Beverage and he retired as a Manager for L.A. Martin Machine Shop in Detroit, Michigan. Ed is pre-deceased by his sister Diana Lee who passed away in 1954 , and by his son James R. Hooey who passed away on June 23 , 2007 and by his father Robert H. Hooey who passed away on August 27 , 2008. Ed is survived by Annemarie Hooey of Wyandotte, MI and son Bryan Hooey of Wyandotte, MI; mother Irene M. Saylor Hooey of Horseheads, NY; sister : Patricia Brown of Elmira , NY ; brothers and sisters-in-law : Robert L. & Renie Hooey of Horseheads , NY and Wayne H. & Denise Hooey of Elmira Heights , NY; daughter-in-law: Michele M. Cornacchio Hooey of Elmira Heights, NY; grandchildren: Angela and Justin Beard, Elaina, Michaela, and Lucas Hooey; 3 great grandchildren; several aunts , uncles , nieces, nephews , cousins and a host of caring friends. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS, NY on Thursday March 19, 2015 from 6-8PM. Ed will be laid to rest with his son James in St. Mary Our Mother Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
