Obituary of Katie G. Thomason

THOMASON , KATIE GARDNER Age 35 of Elmira Heights , NY passed away on Thursday April 23 , 2015 at Strong Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Katie was born on June 14 , 1979 in Elmira , NY the daughter of E. Jerry and Linda Mallette Gardner . She was a graduate of Notre Dame High School and received her Licensed Practical Nursing Degree . Katie married her husband Anthony T. Thomason on July 17 , 1999 . She was an LPN and Case Manager at St. Joseph's Hospital prior to her illness. Katie was pre-deceased by her brother Gregory Allan Gardner and by her maternal grandmother Teresa Mallette and her husband's mother Karen Y. Thomason. She volunteered for the walk a mile in my shoes anti suicide campaign and also southern tier care first petal pushers. Katie loved her family and friends and treasured every moment she spent with them. Katie is survived by her loving and devoted husband Anthony T. Thomason ; her beloved children Abigail T. Thomason and Noah A. Thomason both at home ; mother : Linda Mallette Gardner of Elmira , NY ; father and step-mother : E. Jerry & Delia Gardner of Corning , NY ; sister and brother-in-law : Krisanne & Jamie Brown of Horseheads , NY and their children Marissa , Nicholas , and Avalin Brown ; father-in-law and mother-in-law : Thomas G. & Shirley M. Thomason of Horseheads , NY ; maternal grandparents : Allan & Dee Mallette of Horseheads , NY ; paternal grandmother : Emma Gardner of Big Flats , NY ; grandmother-in-law : Lucille Thomason of Baker , Oregon ; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law : Donald & Ellen Lewis of California and their children Corvin and Nikolas , Tara & Peter Kastner of Elmira , NY and their children Phoenix and Tommy , Jeromy & Christy Eddy of Horseheads , NY and their children McKenzie , Isabella , and Jeromy Jr. , and Stephanie Dyer of Horseheads , NY ; several aunts , uncles , nieces , nephews , cousins , and numerous caring friends and neighbors. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass Celebrating Katie's Life on Monday April 27 , 2015 at 1 PM at St. Mary Our Mother Church 816 West Broad Street Horseheads , NY .
