Obituary of Nancy Joyce Braender

BRAENDER , NANCY JOYCE Age 79 of Horseheads , NY formerly of Florida and Hilton Head , SC passed away on Tuesday November 17 , 2015 . Nancy was born September 10 , 1936 in Elmira , NY the daughter of the late Ernest and Melissa Rose Johnson Hamm . She received her Bachelor's Degree from Elmira College and was accepted to Juliard School of Music and Dramatic Arts in New York City. Nancy sold wine for Walter Taylor and was the only female National Sales Director and her clients included Frank Sinatra and many prominent citizens across the country. She taught school in public and Catholic schools in Florida for 22 years and also taught G.E.D. classes and literacy for the aged and needy. Nancy was a prominent educational grant writer and lectured across Florida . She was a member of The National Teachers Association. Nancy was an equestrian expert and trained hunter jumpers for decades and ran five major stables and placed them at high accreditation . She was pre-deceased by her daughter Christy Bennett in 2003. Nancy loved her family and friends and treasured the time she spent with them . Nancy is survived by her husband of eleven years Brooks Henry David Braender III ; daughter and grandson Holly Hellewell and Christian William Lopez of Horseheads , NY ; daughter : Julie Ann Bennett of Punta Verde Beach , Florida ; sister and brother-in-law : Mary Lou & William A. Tryon II of Elmira , NY ; niece : Susan Tryon Rogers ; nephews : Ronald Tryon and William A. Tryon III ; several grand nieces , grand nephews , cousins , and a host of caring friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Nancy's Funeral Services on Wednesday November 25 , 2015 at 11 AM at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS , NY . Nancy will be laid to rest next to her daughter Christy and her parents in Woodlawn Cemetery in Elmira , NY.
