Obituary of Richard L. Marvin

MARVIN Richard L. "Dick" Age 72 of Horseheads , NY passed away on Sunday August 12 , 2012 at Bethany Manor. Richard was born March 8 , 1940 in Elmira , NY the son of the late Stuart B. "Stub" Marvin and Elizabeth V. "Betty" Pierce Marvin. Dick was also pre-deceased by his brother Jack P. Marvin who was killed in a plane crash on October 9 , 1970. He was a graduate of Horseheads High School and was a Nurse's Aide at Bethany Village for many years . Dick had been a member of The Community Wesleyan Church in Horseheads , NY for several years . Dick loved his family and friends and treasured the time he spent with them . Dick is survived by his uncle Robert Pierce of Endwell NY ; several nieces , nephews , cousins , and a host of caring friends including his cousins Frank & Patricia Bacon of Horseheads , NY , Michael & Lizette Bacon of Indianapolis , Indiana , Judy & Ed Fitzgerald of Lowman , NY , Sherry & Reza Vossoughi of Modesto , CA , Gail Hyland of Lansdale , PA , John Paul & Carol Pierce of Harriett , Arkansas , Jeff & Barbara Pierce of Endwell, NY , and Robbie Pierce of Binghamton , NY . Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS , NY on Thursday August 16 , 2012 from 12 to 1 PM. Dick's Funeral Services will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 1 PM with the Rev. Elwyn Patrick officiating. Dick will be laid to rest next to his parents and his brother in Woodlawn Cemetery in Elmira , NY .
