Obituary of Joseph D. Hartman

HARTMAN , JOSEPH D. Age 71 of Horseheads, NY passed away on Monday September 26, 2016. Joe was born on March 19, 1945 in Elmira, NY the son of the late John B. and Genevieve Southard Hartman. Mr. Hartman was a Veteran of the Vietnam War serving his county with the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Bentley-Trumble American Legion Post #442. Joe was pre-deceased by his daughter Kathy Jo Hartman on September 2 , 1971. He was also pre-deceased by his brother Ted Hartman and sister Jennie Comfort. Joe was a retired employee of The Village of Horseheads , NY . Mr. Hartman is survived by his daughter and son-in-law: Melanie and Daniel Carpenter of Elmira, NY ; son and daughter-in-law: James and Cristina Hartman of Horseheads, NY; grandchildren: Joseph, Michael, and Danielle Carpenter , and Anthony Hartman ; Long-time Companion Loretta Larsen of Horseheads, NY; brothers and sisters-in-law: Fred and Sue Hartman of Horseheads , NY , John Hartman of Millport , NY , Ernest and Sheila Hartman of Horseheads , NY , Lester and Doreen Hartman of Breesport , NY , and Bill & Cindy Hartman of Dundee , Florida ; sisters and brother-in-law: Emma Gardner of Horseheads , NY , Ruth Radford of Beaver Dams , NY , and Clara and Walter McNeil of Horseheads , NY ; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of caring friends. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET on Thursday September 29, 2016 from 11 AM-12 Noon. Full Military Honors will be accorded Mr. Hartman at the Funeral Home at 12 Noon. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Horseheads, NY.
