Obituary of Bernard F. Owens

OWENS , BERNARD F. SR. Age 74 of Erin , NY passed away on Thursday December 8 , 2016 at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre , PA. Bernard was born October 2 , 1942 in Elmira , NY the son of the late John and Elizabeth Jordan Owens . He married his wife , Donna Marie White Owens , on October 30 , 1962 and they recently celebrated their 54th Wedding Anniversary on October 30 , 2016. Bernard was a retired employee of Hilliard Corporation in Elmira , NY. In addition to his parents , Bernard was pre-deceased by his son Bernard F. Owens Jr . on December 19 , 2001 , his daughter Jean Marie Owens-Reed on July 9 , 2010 , his granddaughters Elizabeth Reed on November 6 , 1993 and Tiffany Owens on March 23 , 2005, as well as his brothers and sisters. Bernie an advocate for healthy living and was a local distributor for Youngevity Health Products. He was the host of The Wellness Hour with Bernie and Friends 820 AM for many years. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and family and loved his family and friends. Bernie is survived by his loving and devoted wife Donna Marie White Owens ; his children : Theresa & Thomas Lovell of Erin , NY , John & Tiffany Schoonover-Owens of Erin , NY , and Martina & James Hartigan of Horseheads , NY ; grandchildren : Matthew Warner , Thomas J. Lovell , Alexis Lovell , Agusta Huston , Maeve Owens , Jacob Hartigan , John Hartigan, Alexandra Hartigan, and Joseph Hartigan , Christopher Reed , and Tabitha Forbes ; several great grandchildren ; brothers : John "Jack" & Maude Owens of Houston , Texas and Michael & Cathy Owens of Lakeland , Florida ; sister : Agnes Lackey of Missouri ; several nieces , nephews , cousins , and a host of caring friends . It was Mr. Owens' wish that there be no calling hours . Private Funeral Services will be held at the convenience of the family . Bernie will be laid to rest in Maple Grove Cemetery in Horseheads , next to his daughter and grandchildren .
