Obituary of Curtis W. Freeman

FREEMAN CURTIS W. Age 78 of Horseheads, NY passed away on Monday March 6, 2017. He was born on June 10, 1938 in Elmira, NY the son of the late Wilfred and Vivian Spiegel Freeman. Mr. Freeman was a Certified Master Auto Mechanic for Elm Chevrolet, Steve Acuto Pontiac, and Van Brunt Motors. Curtis married his wife Ann (Stevens) Freeman on July 13, 1973 and they would have celebrated their 44th Wedding Anniversary this year. Mr. Freeman was a longtime Volunteer Firefighter and Past Treasurer, President and Board Member of the Tompkins Corners Fire Department. He had many interests, such as woodworking, tractors, photography, outdoor activities including gardening and yard work. Mr. Freeman was known for his ingenuity, strength of spirit, self-reliance, determination, and his readiness to help his family, friends and neighbors at any time of the day or night. He was pre-deceased by brothers Owen Freeman and Noel Freeman and his sister Barbara Lawson. Curtis is survived by his loving wife Ann Stevens Freeman, son Glenn Freeman of Horseheads, NY; daughter Darlene Freeman of Newton, MA; several grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins; and his dog Freckles. Mr. Freeman's family would like to thank the team of Doctor's and Nurses in the Intensive Care Unit of the Arnot Ogden Medical Center for their devoted care and kindness. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS, NY on Friday March 10, 2017 from 7-9 PM. Mr. Freeman's Funeral Services will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday March 11, 2017 at 10 AM. Interment in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Elmira, NY.
