Obituary of Kathy J. D'Arminio

D'ARMINIO , KATHY J. nee VAN DEVENTER Age 64 of Binghamton, NY and Myrtle Beach , SC passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday March 8 , 2017 in Myrtle Beach. Kathy was born June 5 , 1952 in Elmira , NY the daughter of Edwin J. and Lois I. Mase Van Deventer . She was a graduate of Thomas A. Edison High School Class of 1970. Kathy received her Registered Nursing Degree from Arnot Ogden School of Nursing in 1973 . She was a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room at both St. Joseph's Hospital in Elmira and Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton. Kathy worked as a Disability Analyst for The New York State Office of Temporary Disability and was a proud member of the Public Employees Federation where she served as New York State Chairman of the Health and Safety Committee. She retired in 2015 .Kathy was pre-deceased by her mother Lois I. Van Deventer on May 4 , 2007 . Kathy loved living by the beach. Her deepest passion was for her family and friends , enjoying time with them . Her children and grandchildren were the apple of her eye . Kathy is survived by her husband Angelo A. D'Arminio Jr. of Myrtle Beach , SC ; her children : Stacey & Edward Monico of Johnson City , NY , Natalie Stuart of Johnson City , NY , and Brian Stuart and Caitlyn Harrison of Binghamton , NY ; two step-children : Theresa & Vincent Gogluicci of Newington , CT and Karen D'Arminio of Fairview , NJ ; grandchildren: Justin , Victoria , Gianna , Zachary , Antonia , Alexa , Brianna , Edward , and Ava. Kathy is also survived by her father Edwin J. Van Deventer of Horseheads , NY ; brother Edwin "Ed" Van Deventer & Sheri McHenry of Dundee, NY ; sister and brother-in-law : Sue & Ed Ungvarsky of Horseheads , NY ; former husband : Michael Stuart of Binghamton , NY ; several aunts , uncles , nieces , nephews , cousins and a host of caring friends . DUE TO THE SNOW STORM Kathy's Calling Hours and Funeral Mass has been re-scheduled as follows . Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Allen Memorial Home 511-513 East Main Street Endicott , NY on Wednesday March 15 , 2017 from 4-8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday March 16, 2017 at 11 AM at St. Vincent De Paul Church 465 Clubhouse Road Vestal , NY .
