Obituary of Elizabeth H. Sauerzopf

SAUERZOPF , ELIZABETH H. "BETTY" Age 79 of Horseheads, NY formerly of Camden , NY passed away on Tuesday June 6, 2017. Elizabeth was born on August 21, 1937 in Rome, NY the daughter of the late Wilfred and Mildred Walker Higham. She was also pre-deceased by her granddaughter Grace Sauerzopf. Elizabeth received her Bachelor's Degree from The State University of New York at Oswego . Elizabeth married her husband Robert C. Sauerzopf on August 28, 1960 and they would have celebrated their 57th Wedding Anniversary on August 28, 2017. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Horseheads. Mrs. Sauerzopf was a member of The Piecemaker Quilters of Elmira, a member of the Chemung Valley Audubon Society and was associated with numerous Professional Affiliations. Elizabeth was a retired Teacher from SCT BOCES in Horseheads, NY. Mrs. Sauerzopf is survived by her husband Robert C. Sauerzopf ; sons: John Sauerzopf of Apollo, PA and Rev. Dr. Richard C. Sauerzopf of Horseheads , NY ; daughter and son-in-law: Katherine and Jay Yueling of Lindley, NY; grandchildren: Jeffrey Yueling , Tyler Yueling , and Charles Knerien ; brother and sister-in-law: Jack and Jan Higham of Vestal, NY; sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Barbara and Robert Snyder of Galax, VA; Aunt Charlotte Caldwell of Rome, NY; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of caring friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service celebrating Elizabeth's Life at the First United Methodist Church 1034 West Broad Street Horseheads , NY on Saturday June 24, 2017 at 11 AM.
