Obituary of Shirley H. Broderick

BRODERICK , SHIRLEY H. ROHDE Age 88 of St. Petersburg , Florida formerly of Corning , NY passed away on Thursday July 20 , 2017. Shirley was born July 29 , 1928 in Ellistown , PA the daughter of the late William and Alice Woodworth Hettig. She married her husband Gerald Rohde and he pre-deceased her in 1985 and was also pre-deceased by her second husband Gerald Broderick. Shirley loved her family and friends and treasured the time she spent with them. She loved to take her children water skiing and enjoyed riding motorcycles with her husband Gerald Rohde . She also enjoyed doing macramé. Shirley had worked at Loblaw's , Lodge on The Green , 171 Cedar Street Arts Center , and retired as a waitress at Cozy Corner II in Florida . Shirley was a long-time communicant of St. Vincent DePaul's Church in Corning , NY. Shirley was a loving and gracious lady who was always a "Classy Lady" and loved by her family and everyone who knew her. Mrs. Broderick is survived by her loving and devoted children Sher Rohde of St. Petersburg , Florida , Kit & Jerry Kosty of Horseheads , NY , and Thomas Rohde of St. Petersburg, Florida ; grandchildren : Jennifer Ross , Stephanie & Ryan Goff , and Tiffany Kosty and Dennis Epperson all of Horseheads , NY , and Crystal Marie Scholl-Cudd of CA ; great grandchildren : Brianna Ross , Cassie , Hannah , Tyler , Megan Kielyn , and Riley Goff , Devon Walton , Lilly Walton , Dennis Epperson II , and Brody Carson Cudd ; several nieces, nephews , and a host of caring friends. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS , NY on Wednesday July 26 , 2017 from 5 -7 PM. She will be laid to rest with her husband Gerald Rohde in St. Mary's Cemetery in Corning , NY at the convenience of the family.
