Obituary of John T. Hufnagel

HUFNAGEL, JOHN T. "JACK" Age 74 of Horseheads, NY passed away peacefully after a courageous battle over the last 9 years. Jack was born June 29, 1943 in Wellsboro, PA the son of the late Jonathan and Evelyn Brewer Hufnagel. He married his wife, Patricia McCarthy Hufnagel, on October 25, 1969 and they would have celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary this year. Jack served honorably in the New York Army National Guard for 5 years. He was the proud owner of Gwin Flooring & Lighting in Hanover Square for 26 years prior his retirement. He loved his family and friends and treasured the time he spent with them, especially at Keuka Lake and traveling in their RV. Jack is survived by his loving and tirelessly devoted wife Patricia "Muffie" McCarthy Hufnagel; his beloved sons and daughters-in-law: J.T. & Kim Hufnagel Jr. of Corning, NY, Matt & Cassie Hufnagel of Bath, NY, and Mark Hufnagel of Horseheads, NY; his cherished grandchildren: Lauren Hufnagel, Jacob Hufnagel, and Benjamin Hufnagel; sisters and brothers: Peggy Spotts of Penfield, NY, Diane Cady of Mansfield, PA, and Jim & El Hufnagel of Mansfield, PA; brother-in-law and sister-in-law: William "Tim" & Patricia McCarthy of Apalachin, NY; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of caring friends. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS, NY on MONDAY AUGUST 7 , 2017 from 4-7 PM.
