Obituary of Shirley Taylor Peck

PECK , SHIRLEY TAYLOR Age 83 of Horseheads , NY passed away on Monday April 29 , 2013 after a brief illness . Shirley was born January 29 , 1930 in Horseheads , NY the daughter of the late William and Cecil Wilson Taylor . She married her husband , Frank A. Peck Sr. , on June 9 , 1950 and he pre-deceased her on October 9 , 2002 . Shirley was also pre-deceased by her sisters Ruth Wood and Verniece Snyder and by her brothers Ernest Taylor and Clayton Taylor . She was a retired employee of Fairway Springs in Horseheads , NY and a member of The First United Methodist Church of Horseheads , NY . Shirley loved her family and friends and treasured the time she spent with them. Shirley is survived by her son and daughter-in-law : Frank A. "Buddy" & Sandy Peck Jr. of Elmira , NY ; daughter : Donna Hillard of Elmira , NY ; former son-in-law : Dale Hillard ; grandchildren : Dylan & Janine Peck of Comack , L.I. , NY , Andrea Sokira of New Bern , NC , Douglas & Morgan (Mawhir) Hillard of Elmira Heights , NY , and Dana Hillard of Horseheads , NY ; great grandsons : Brayden Peck , Jake Peck , and Lyric Hillard ; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law : Geraldine "Deannie" Bailey of Michigan and Florida , Ron Peck of Caton , NY and Florida, Ross "Bucky" & Carolee Peck of Corning , NY and Florida , and Carol & John Collins of Elmira , NY and Florida ; several nieces , nephews , grand nieces , grand nephews , cousins , and a host of caring friends including special friends Star Eixner Walters and Nancy Hendrickson . Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS , NY on Friday May 3 , 2013 from 1-3 and 5-7 PM. Shirley's Funeral and Committal Services will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 8 PM with Gayle Oldenbusch officiating . Shirley will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband Frank in Maple Grove Cemetery in Horseheads , NY at the convenience of the family .
