Obituary of Theodora Ruth Terwilliger

TERWILLIGER , THEODORA RUTH "Teddy" Age 88 of Horseheads , NY formerly of Elmira Heights , NY passed away on Friday September 1, 2017 . Theodora was born March 25, 1929 in Elmira, NY the daughter of the late Lester and Hazel Grafius Atkinson . Teddy graduated from Thomas A. Edison High School in Elmira Heights, NY . She married her husband Gerald C. Terwilliger Sr. who pre-deceased her on January 4 , 2010. Theodora was also pre-deceased by her her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Teddy had worked at Remington Rand, Westinghouse , and was a retired Nurse's Aide at The Arnot Ogden Medical Center. She was a member of The Elmwood Baptist Church in Elmira Heights. Mrs. Terwilliger loved her family and friends and treasured the time she spent with them. Mrs. Terwilliger is survived by her loving and devoted children Gerald C. & Karen Terwilliger Jr. of Myrtle Beach, SC , James A. Terwilliger & Rae Nelson of Elmira, NY , Jean & Danny Yontz of Millport, NY, Joseph & Cindy Terwilliger of Horseheads, NY, and Kathleen & Joe DeGolyer of Brandon, Florida ; beloved grandchildren : Geoff & Rena Terwilliger, Alisa & Eric Davenport, Andrew & Wendy Terwilliger, Jodi & Dan Dykes, Amy Yontz, Matt DeGolyer, Jacob DeGolyer , Lori DeGolyer, and Elaine Brink-Fogliano & T.C. Fogliano, Johanna and Mickey Lincoln, Danielle and Ron Johanson; several cherished great grandchildren; sister & brother-in-law; Martha & John Nystrom D.D.S. of Carlise, PA; sister-in-law Marge Atkinson of Horseheads, NY; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of caring friends . Relatives and Friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS, NY on Tuesday September 5, 2017 from 12 Noon to 1 PM. Mrs. Terwilliger's Funeral Services will be held at the conclusion of calling hours with Rev. Dr. David Sullivan officiating. Theodora will be laid to rest with her beloved husband Gerald in Woodlawn National Cemetery in Elmira , NY.
