Obituary of Rita Ione Reed

Rita Ione Reed (nee Schlecht), 79 Born December 27, 1938 to Harold and Johanna (Schink) Schlecht passed away July 21, 2018. Rita is survived by her children Roger (Sandra) Kubler of Conway, SC, Lisa Kubler (Al) Hawker of Marquette, MI and step children Debbie (Tommy) Norwood of Waxhaw, NC, Billy (Trina) Reed of Lexington, SC and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also, survived by siblings Ronald (Jean Ann) Schlecht of Fayetteville, PA, Marilyn (Basil) Mosher of Corning, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by both of her parents, brothers Glenn (Susan) Schlecht of St. Petersburg, FL and Howard (Jeanne) Schlecht of Elmira, NY, step daughter Teri Reed and former husbands R. Eugene Kubler, and Lee G. Reed. Rita lived her entire life in the local area and attended Thomas A. Edison High School in Elmira Heights, NY. She enjoyed local waterfalls and nature trails, gardening and canning, snowmobiling and trail bikes. She also spent many hours at sewing, crocheting, embroidery, needlepoint and ceramics.
