Obituary of Gordon E. Hartsock

GORDON E. HARTSOCK SR. Age 85 of Millport, NY passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Monday September 24 , 2018. Gordon was born October 1 , 1932 in Elmira, NY the son of the late William And Mary Blitz Hartsock. He was a Korean War Veteran serving his country with The U.S. Navy. Gordon married his wife Waneta J. Clark Hartsock on October 11 , 1951 and she pre-deceased him on August 28 , 2018 after nearly 67 years of marriage. He was also pre-deceased by his sons Larry Hartsock on July 10,1979, Gerry L. Hartsock Sr. on December 14 , 2010 , and Gordon E. Hartsock Jr. on September 27 , 2016 . Gordon was also pre-deceased by his brothers and sisters Raymond Hartsock, June Goldy , Elizabeth Irene Radaker, LuEster Moulthrop , Charles Hartsock , and Robert Hartsock . Gordon was a retired truck driver having driven for Boss-Linco and Cargill Salt. He was a longtime member of AA for over 50 Years and volunteered at The Food Bank at Riverside United Methodist Church for many years. Gordon loved his family and friends and treasured the time he spent with them. Gordon is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law : Terry & Mary Hartsock , Paul Hartsock , and Mark & Skip Hartsock all of Millport , NY ; daughter and son-in-law : Michelle & Roger Hartman of Horseheads , NY ; daughter-in-law : Loretta Masin Hartsock of Montour Falls , NY ; sister : Pat Martin of Roanoke, VA ; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law : Linda Daily of Geneva , NY and Helen & William "Bud" Jensen of Lansing , NY ; several grandchildren, great grandchildren , nieces, nephews , cousins , extended family members and a host of caring friends .Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS , NY on Sunday September 30 , 2018 from 11 AM to 1 PM. Mr. Hartsock's Funeral Services will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 1 PM with Pastor Cathy Dye officiating.
