Obituary of Jean E. Kerwan

JEAN E. KERWAN Age 86 of Elmira Heights, NY passed away on Thursday December 27, 2018. Jean was born April 9, 1932 in in Elmira, NY the daughter of the late Dayton B. and Julia Carlson Knox. She married her husband, Jerome T. Kerwan, on August 27, 1955 and he pre-deceased her on March 29, 2018. Jean was also pre-deceased by her son Joseph L. Kerwan on December 27, 1988 as well as her brothers and sisters-in-law and brother-in-law: Richard and Shirley Knox, Dayton B. "Pete" Knox Jr. and Dianne Mowery Knox, Elizabeth Schiefen (Mrs. Morris) Knox, and Donald McCracken. Jean was a devout communicant of St. Charles Borromeo Church in Elmira Heights, NY. She loved her family and friends and treasured the time she spent with them. Her greatest joy came from entertaining and throwing parties. She made every occasion special. Jean was a long time member of the St. Charles Altar and Rosary as well as the Lakeland Moose and the American Legion Auxiliary. Jean is survived by her beloved daughters and sons-in-law : Susan & William Berg of Elmira Heights, NY and Karen and Patrick Adami of Elmira, NY; cherished grandchildren: Jason (Debora) Berg of Boston MA and Jenna Berg of Elmira Heights, NY, Jennifer Hamilton of TN, Allison (Joshua) Dip of TN, Julie (Doug) Colton of OH, and Joanne Grismore of PA; eight great grandchildren; sisters and brothers: Marion and Joseph Agan of Elmira Heights, NY, Charlotte (Mrs. Donald) McCracken of Horseheads, NY, and Morris Knox and Carolyn Fedele of Florida; brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Michael and Marilyn Kerwan of CA; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of caring friends. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS, NY on Friday January 4, 2019 from 4-7 PM. Mrs. Kerwan's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday January 5, 2019 at 11 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Church 130 Oakwood Avenue Elmira Heights, NY. Jean will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband Jerry and her beloved son Joseph.
