Obituary of Ronald Andrew Fitzsimmons

FITZSIMMONS , RONALD ANDREW "DUTCH" Age 78 Of Pine City , NY passed away on Saturday September 14 , 2013 very unexpectedly at The Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira , NY . Dutch was born September 16 , 1934 in The Town of Caroline , NY the son of the late Andrew and Elizabeth Zimdahl Fitzsimmons. He was a Veteran serving his country with The U.S. Army . Dutch married his wife , Marjorie Ellen Kinney Fitzsimmons , on February 16 , 1957 and they recently celebrated their 56 th Wedding Anniversary. He was a member of The Caton United Methodist Church and a life-time member of The Caton Fire Department . Dutch was a union electrician having worked for Bouille Electric for many years and was a member of I.B.E.W . Local # 139 . Mr. Fitzsimmons was pre-deceased by his parents , his daughters Lora Ruth Fitzsimmons and Elizabeth Fitzsimmons , and his sister Elizabeth (Mrs. Roscoe) Andrews . Dutch loved his family and friends and treasured every moment he spent with them and he was always there for a family member or friend. Dutch is survived by his wife Mary Ellen Kinney Fitzsimmons ; daughters and sons-in-law : Sara (Alan) Nicolette of Ilion , NY , Jennifer (Gary) Audinwood of Campbell , NY , Melissa ( Kevin) Sproule of Pine City , NY , Amanda (Curtis) Robbins of Pine City , NY ; son : Peter Fitzsimmons & Kelley Bachman of Caton , NY ; 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren ; sisters and brother-in-law : Maud Lobdell of Ohio and Ruth & William Coston Jr. of Burdett , NY ; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law : Mary (Norvall) Campbell of Elmira Heights , NY , Janice Kinney of Horseheads , NY , Patricia Mason of Breesport , NY , and Stephen Kinney of Florida ; several nieces , nephews , cousins , and a host of caring friends . Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS , NY on Tuesday September 17 , 2013 from 4-7 PM . Mr. Fitzsimmons' Funeral Services will be held at Funeral Home on Wednesday September 18 , 2013 at 10 AM. Interment in Maple Grove Cemetery in Horseheads , NY where Full Military Honors will be accorded Mr. Fitzsimmons.
