Obituary of Miles Eugene Ayers

MILES EUGENE AYERS age 95 of Elmira Heights, NY passed away on Friday July 5, 2019 at The Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Miles was born September 15, 1923 in Allentown, PA the son of the late Earl Emmett Ayers and Fraces Idella Bohart Ayers. He was a Veteran of World War II serving his country with The U.S. ARMY. Miles worked at American Bridge Works for 36 years and retired as a truck driver for Van Dyne Oil Company in Troy, PA. In addition to his wife Marjorie Burdick Ayers, Miles was pre-deceased by his daughter Marjorie Janette Ayers and his sons James, Thomas, David, Paul , and William Eugene Ayers Sr.. He was also pre-deceased by his sisters Elizabeth Hoover,Naomi Ayers, Mary Ayers, and Pauline Sutryk. Miles is survived by his son Daniel Alfred Ayers of Kenton, TN ; daughter-in-law: Joan Sandra (Mrs. William Eugene) Ayers Sr. of Mt. Gilead, NC; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews , cousins , and a host of caring friends including a special friend and caregiver Michael Kingsbury. It was Miles' wish that there be no prior calling hours and that he be laid to rest in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Elmira, NY at the convenience of the family.
