Obituary of Rose A. Linsner

LINSNER Rose Age 94 of Horseheads , NY passed away on Saturday October 6, 2012. Rose was born in New York City to immigrant parents Julia Tatara Gartner and Adolph Gartner on September 25, 1918. Mrs. Linsner is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Arthur (Carolyn Kuechler) Linsner III of Skokie, IL; daughter and son-in-law Kathy (Bruce) Ayers of Corning, NY; grandchildren Jordan, Jessica and Jennifer Ayers of Corning, NY; sister Lillian (Joseph) Henry of Horseheads, NY and their children Paul, Janet, Mary and Robert; sister Annette (Raymond) Hussey of Rosedale, NY and their children Kenneth, Kevin, Christopher, Michael and Stephen; niece Dorothy Linsner, nephew Eric Linsner and several grandnieces and grandnephews. Rose was often seen dancing the rarely seen Peabody at the Horseheads Elks Club with her husband Arthur who died June 25, 1979. When complimented on her dancing ability, she would gracefully reply, "I can't dance; I just know how to follow Art." She was secretary for the man who became the founder of Consumer Reports and taught as an Earth Science teacher for the Horseheads School district for 17 years. An accomplished classical pianist, she entertained her family and friends to their amazement. She also took time to teach several local youths. Until she could no longer do so, she volunteered at the local Food Bank and remained active in her St. Mary Our Mother parish. A special "Thank You" is sent to all her Caregivers over the past several years, especially Carrie Ann , Carlene, Pam, Mary, Alex, Elizabeth, Pat, Gloria, Allyn, and Norma. Their tireless devotion in making her quality of life so wonderful was beyond any wishes. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS, NY on Tuesday October 9, 2012 from 7-9 PM . A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday October 10, 2012 at 12:30 PM at St. Mary Our Mother Church 816 West Broad Street in Horseheads, NY. Rev. Christopher Linsler will be the Celebrant, assisted by Deacon Raymond Defendorf and Brother Paul C. Henry A. A..
