Obituary of Martin A. Gush

Martin A. "Marty" Gush age 73 of Elmira, NY passed away on Sunday February 7, 2021. Marty was born May 28, 1947 in Elmira, NY the son of the late Bernard F. and Ann Garbay Gush. He was a graduate of Elmira Free Academy, Corning Community College, and Monroe Community College. Marty was a decorated U.S. Marine Corps Veteran serving his country during The Vietnam War. He received The Navy Achievment Medal with Combat "V". Marty was a retired Corrections Officers with The NYS Department of Corrections serving at Attica and retiring from Elmira, NY. He was a member of American Legion Post #443 in Elmira, NY. Marty loved Animals, Nature, Fishing, Gardening, and Fishing. He loved his family and friends and treasured the time he spent with them. Marty is survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law: Charles and Linda Gush of Saratoga Springs, NY , Philip Gush of Elmira, NY , and Steven and Vickie Gush of Pine Valley, NY; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of caring friends. Gravsite Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday March 16, 2021 at 1 PM at Woodlawn National Cemetery 1825 Davis Street Elmira, NY where Full Military Honors will be accorded. Father John DeSocio will officiate. A Celebration of Marty's Life will be held at a time to be announced. Arrangements are entrusted to the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS, NY.
