Obituary of Jack E. Denhoff

JACK E. DENHOFF "Coach"Age 85 of Elmira, NY passed away on Wednesday March 10, 2021 at The Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Jack was born February 7, 1936 in Canisteo, NY the son of the late Edward and Mabel Goodrich Denhoff. He was a graduate of Mansfield State Teachers College. He married his wife, Ann Mosher Denhoff, on August 17, 1957 and they celebrated their 63rd Wedding Anniversary on August 17, 2020. In addition to his parents, Jack is pre-deceased by his sisters Eloise, Maxine, and Dorothy. He was a retired history teacher with the Horseheads Central School District and was the wrestling coach for several years. He was a communicant of St. Mary Our Mother Church in Horseheads, NY. Jack loved his family and friends and treasured the time he spent with them especially his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and a mentor to many and will always be remembered as "Coach". Jack is survived by his loving and devoted wife of nearly 64 years Ann M. Denhoff ; son: Keith J. Denhoff of Horseheads, NY ; daughter and son-in-law: Karen M. and Shawn Earley of Horseheads, NY; grandchildren: Kevin Earley, Andrew Earley, and Megan Earley all of Horseheads, NY; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Joseph Mosher of Florida , Ted and Carol Mosher of Florida , and Basil and Marilyn Mosher of Corning, NY; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of caring friends . Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET on Sunday March 14, 2021 from 2-5 PM. Mr. Denhoff's Funeral Services will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday March 15, 2021 at 10 AM with Deacon Doug Farwell officiating. Jack will be laid to rest in St. Mary Our Mother Cemetery in Horseheads, NY . Due to COVID regulations everyone must wear a mask and Social Distancing will be practiced.
