Obituary of Monica Taylor

Monica Krawiec (Goodrich) Taylor (1945-2021) On the morning of Monday, July 19, 2021 at 76 years of age, Monica Krawiec (Goodrich) Taylor, of Owego, NY peacefully went to be with the Lord. Monica, an Owego Free Academy graduate, was the very proud and accomplished mother of four children Donald E. (Rebecca) Goodrich, Kristin (David) M. Barton, Andrew (Erika) T. Goodrich, and Sara (Chase) G. Lambin as well as eight grandchildren, Kaylee, Alexandra, Caleb, Joshua, David, Victoria, Champ, and Stella, and two great-grandchildren, Leo and Jace. The youngest of eight children, Monica was born on February 15, 1945, in Endicott, NY to parents Andrew H. Krawiec and Sophia G. Krawiec. Monica was a loving and incredibly resilient person who loved sports and cuisine, most especially her kolacky cookies. Through her love of sports, most notably her passion for the New York Giants and New York Yankees, and as an avid baseball mom, she cultivated a fun family atmosphere that inspired all her children and grandchildren to pursue the sports they loved. The character she displayed during the many battles that she endured throughout her life serves as an inspiration to all who knew her. Monica was a believer in Jesus Christ and deeply appreciated Psalm 23. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.Monica was a warrior who will be remembered not only as a lung cancer and covid-19 survivor, but also as a kind, beautiful, fun-loving person who was a generous friend to many and was especially close with her niece Carole McCulloch. She will be laid to rest at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Owego, NY. A small private gravesite memorial plan is in development.
