Obituary of Joseph A. Katsur

Joseph A. Katsur age 68 of Wayland, NY passed away on Monday October 18, 2021. He was born October 29, 1952 in Hornell, NY the son of the late Joseph Peter Katsur and Julia Jurkovic Katsur. Joe was a graduate of Arkport High School and received his Associate's Degree in Agronomy from Alfred State College. He continued work on the Family Farm after his father died. He served in the U.S. ARMY Reserves and National Guard with over 35 years of service to his country and retired as a Sergeant First Class in 2012. Joe then became the Head of Security for Phillips Electric in Bath, NY. Joe married his wife, Kimberly L. Kallenborn Katsur, on May 16, 1992 and they recently celebrated their 29th Wedding Anniversary. In addition to his parents, Joe was pre-deceased by twin sons James Richard Katsur and Joseph David Katsur on March 14, 1997 and March 15, 1997. He was also pre-deceased by his brother John Senka. Joe loved his family and friends and especially loved sailing on Keuka Lake with his daughter Nicole. Joe is survived by his loving and devoted wife Kimberly L. Kallenborn Katsur ; his beloved daughter Nicole A. Katsur; sister and brother-in-law: Jean and Michael Howe of Holcomb, NY ; brother and sisters-in-law: Robert and Bonnie Katsur of Wasilla, Alaska and Sandra (Mrs. John) Senka ; father-in-law and mother-in-law ; J. David and Nancy Kallenborn of Horseheads, NY; brother-in-law and sister-in-law: John Richard "Rick" and Mary Kallenborn of Elmira, NY and their daughters and son-in-law Dr. Jessica Kallenborn and Kelli and Richard Makowski; Nana Eva Annetta "Pinky" Coher; several nieces, nephews, cousins , and a host of caring friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Joseph's Life on Friday October 22, 2021 at 1 PM at The First United Methodist Church of Horseheads 1034 West Broad Street Horseheads, NY. The Rev. Rhonda Kouterick will officiate and be assisted by the Rev. Robert Parker and Rev. Cheryl Parker. In lieu of flowers, the family would gratefully acknowledge memorials in Joe's Memory to The Wounded Warrior Project P.O. Box 758516 Topeka, Kansas 66676-8516.
