Obituary of Richard W. Margeson
Richard W. Margeson Age 72 of Horseheads, NY passed away on Tuesday February 15, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family. Richard was born on March 11, 1949 in Elmira, NY the son of the late Ray C. and Hattie Louise McHenry Margeson. Mr. Margeson was a Veteran of the Vietnam War serving his country with the U.S. Navy. He married his wife Roxann Colton Margeson on August 1, 1987. Richard was a Retired Culinary Arts Teacher at STC BOCES. Richard was a past member of the Horseheads Fire Dept., President of The Canteen of Horseheads Fire Dept., Member of General Sullivan Masonic Lodge #95 F&AM, Past President of the Horseheads Historical Society, and a member of Horseheads American Legion Post #442. Richard loved helping his grandchildren with their science projects .Richard is survived by his loving wife Roxann Margeson; children: Richard Margeson of Niskayuna, NY; Thomas C. Margeson of Horseheads, NY; Leahann and Brian Villegas of Horseheads, NY; Lori Gould of Billings, MT; Lance Margeson and Mary Seymour of Horseheads, NY; special son: Scott and Jessica McGrain of Horseheads, NY; Grace, Patrick, Jennifer, and Arlene; grandchildren: Katy, Gavin, Haley, Victoria, Antonio, Angelina, Alexander, Aliciana, Carmella, Kingson, Lana, Joseph, Greyson, Anhthu, Thai, Thang; brother and sister-in-law: Ray and Mary Margeson of Elmira, NY; sister: Patricia (Mrs. Fred) Lewis of Horseheads, NY; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Daniel and Debbie Colton of Canton, PA; James and Brenda Colton of Granville Summitt, PA; aunt: Paula Chapman of Elmira, NY; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of caring friends including dear friend and caregiver Evana Kosko. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Horseheads Fire Station 134 North Main Street Horseheads, NY on Friday March 11, 2022 from 4 to 8 PM. Military Honors will be accorded Mr. Margeson at 4PM to begin his services. Officers and Members of Masonic Lodge #95 will meet at The Fire Station at 7:45 PM to conduct a Masonic Service for their departed brother Richard.
