Obituary of Terry A. Hartsock

In loving memory Terry (Rusty, Pappy) Alan Hartsock Jr. Born in Elmira, New York on February 3rd, 1976 & passed away on March 11th, 2022. Rusty is survived by his wife Jane Hartsock. Daughters; Jillian, Audreona & Richell Sons; Kenneth & Eric Granddaughter Aluraeona & Grandson Jaxon. He is predeceased by his father Terry Hartsock Sr. & Survived by his mother Yvonne, and 2nd Mother Mary. His Sister Samantha & Brothers; Jamie (Sherita) & Charlie. Sister in-laws; Marlena (Tom), Charlene, Tracy, and Carrie (Alan) and Brother in-law Eric and Several Nieces and Nephews. Best Friends; Shawn, Jamie, Charlie, Big Jim, Dan, Micky, Barry, the D4 trials crew, and many more. Special recognition to his Hell Hounds of his platoon 4 id 3/67 AR Rusty is an Army Veteran where he served as a Tanker and stationed in Fort Hood Texas. During this time, he served two tours in Iraq and Afghanistan where he was awarded 9 different awards and medals including the National Defense Service medal and the War on Terrorism Medal. After being honorably discharged from the Army, Rusty enjoyed spending his time volunteering at the Town and Country Fire Department in Horseheads NY and riding trial bikes with the District 4 Trials committee. Rusty was known for his spectacular and adventurous story telling of his times in Iraq and Afghanistan. As well as his humor and ability to always walk in a room with a smile on. He was a family man, who loved his wife and children more than anything. There was never a time that you could not depend on Rusty for anything. He took pride in building things with own bare hands to provide for his wife and family. He will be sincerely missed by his family and friends. As we all know, Rusty would want us to celebrate his life in remembrance of all the amazing accomplishments and funny stories he lived by. Services are scheduled Saturday, March 19th at The Way Center 132 Oakwood Ave Elmira Heights, NY 14903 at 2pm. Full Military Honors will be accorded Mr. Hartsock following the service at 4:30 PM.
